Understanding your results.

The tool shows the true cost of buying Bitcoin, Ethereum, or stablecoins with euros. It accounts for three hidden costs most price trackers ignore:

  • FX spread — the gap between EUR/USD mid-market rate and what your provider actually uses
  • Deposit fee — what your provider charges to accept your EUR (often zero for SEPA)
  • Conversion margin — the provider's spread on the crypto price itself

The output shows you how much crypto you actually receive after all costs, side by side for each provider, so you can pick the cheapest option.

Common mistake: comparing exchange rates without accounting for the EUR/USD FX spread. A provider may show a good BTC/EUR rate but use a terrible EUR/USD rate for the underlying conversion — our tool catches this.

How to use this tool.

Type the amount in EUR. The tool shows the cheapest way to convert that amount into Bitcoin, Ethereum, or stablecoins via SEPA, credit card, and Apple/Google Pay, accounting for deposit fees, conversion spreads, and withdrawal fees.

We compare 12 exchanges across 3 payment methods. The cheapest option is highlighted at the top; the most expensive shows at the bottom. The savings between the two can be anywhere from 0.5% to 4%.

Pro tip: for large EUR purchases (over €1,000), SEPA is almost always cheapest even though it takes 1–2 business days. Card purchases add 1.5–2.5% interchange fees that show up as a worse price.

Privacy & safety.

This tool pulls live prices from CoinGecko, plus FX reference rates from Frankfurter and the ECB. All calculations happen in your browser — nothing you enter is stored or transmitted.

Fee estimates are based on publicly available schedules and may vary slightly depending on market conditions at the time of your purchase.

Remember: crypto purchases carry market risk. The price can move between when you check the rate and when your transfer settles (especially for SEPA, which takes 1–2 business days).

Frequently asked questions.

How much EUR to BTC after fees?
It depends on the provider and payment method. For a €1,000 SEPA transfer, you typically receive around €990–€997 worth of BTC after all fees and spreads. Card purchases usually land around €965–€985. Use our tool to get the exact figure for your amount at the current market rate.
What is the best way to buy crypto with EUR?
For most people, SEPA transfer to ChangeNOW or Binance offers the lowest all-in cost. Card payments are faster but add 1.5–2.5% in interchange fees. Our comparator breaks down the total cost so you can choose the right balance of speed and cost for your situation.
Why do I get less crypto than the market rate suggests?
What you see on CoinGecko or CoinMarketCap is the mid-market rate — the average between the global bid and ask. Exchanges and swap services add a spread (their margin) on top. Some also charge explicit deposit or conversion fees. The difference between the mid-market rate and what you actually receive is your all-in cost.
Is it cheaper to buy USDT or USDC with EUR?
USDT and USDC trade at essentially the same price in EUR (both target $1 USD). The cost difference comes from which exchanges support which stablecoin. USDT has more EUR pairs on most platforms, which often means tighter spreads. USDC is catching up fast and may have lower fees on some platforms like Coinbase.
How does SEPA vs credit card cost compare?
SEPA is 0.5–1.5% cheaper than credit card for most amounts because cards carry interchange fees (1.5–2.5%) that the exchange passes through as a worse rate. For amounts over €500, SEPA wins every time. For small amounts under €100, the convenience of instant card purchase may be worth the ~€2-3 premium.
Do I need a wallet to receive the crypto?
Yes. Before buying, set up a wallet to receive the funds. For smaller amounts, an exchange wallet works, but for anything over €500 we recommend a non-custodial wallet like Ledger (hardware) or a trusted software wallet. Never leave large amounts on an exchange.
Can I compare EUR to multiple cryptocurrencies at once?
Yes — our tool compares EUR to BTC, ETH, USDC, and USDT simultaneously. For each cryptocurrency, we calculate the all-in cost across providers and payment methods, so you can see which asset is cheapest to buy from EUR right now.
